Morishita Legal Office

Since 2013, based in Dubai, UAE, a hub for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Involved in a wide range of Middle Eastern matters, including issues unique to the region such as agency law, foreign investment regulations, and economic sanctions, as well as strong expertise in infrastructure projects.

The only long-term stationed attorney in the Middle East region affiliated with a Japanese law firm. From Dubai, the hub of MENA, I cover a broad area including UAE, Saudi Arabia, other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Iran, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, and more. I frequently handle legal issues specific to the region, such as agency law, foreign investment regulations, and economic sanctions, and have conducted numerous seminars and written articles on these topics. In the Middle East, where the gap between law and practice is often an issue, I offer practical legal advice beyond just legal content, leveraging my extensive local experience and network. I also maintain deep relationships with leading law firms in various countries, ensuring appropriate and timely coordination, including managing attorney fees. Additionally, I have experience in global infrastructure projects, having worked with JBIC, a major trading company’s power division, and a UK law firm, further strengthening my expertise in the infrastructure field.
